⛰️ Olumo Rock
Climb the rock where the Egba people hid in war. The view of the whole city is mad.
About the place
Olumo Rock is the granite outcrop that gave Abeokuta its name, which means “under the rock”. In the 19th century the Egba people settled around it for protection during the wars of that era. Today it is the city’s best-known tourist site, with steps carved into the rock, a lift, and views across the rooftops of Abeokuta.
