How to play Abeokuta Life
A quick guide for your first day in Abeokuta.
1. Create your Sim
Pick a look with Adire, Ankara or Aso-oke fabric, a gele or fila, two personality traits and a lifetime dream. The birth lottery then decides if you are Omo Olowo (born rich) or an Ajo Baby (starting with a small ajo loan but learning faster).
2. Keep your needs green
Your Sim has six needs: hunger, energy, fun, social, hygiene and bladder. Tap things in your room to use them. NEPA can take light at any time, so the TV and fan may stop working.
3. Follow the Egba Chronicles
Story quests guide you through the city and pay you as you go:
- New in town: Greet Iya Basira at Mama Egba's Ofada Spot.
- The rock that saved a people: Climb Olumo Rock once.
- First price is not last price: Win a haggle at Kuto Market.
- Indigo hands: Dye your first Adire cloth at Itoku.
- Hustle starts today: Get a job and work your first shift.
- Palace manners: Visit Ake Palace and pay respect.
- Make a padi: Become Friends (45+) with anyone.
- Landlord no dey joke: Survive to Saturday and pay your first rent.
4. Get a job
Open the Jobs app on your phone. Work 1-hour shifts at your workplace, up to two a day. Do well while happy, and level up the right skill, to get promoted.
